Deputy Army Chief visit to Coast Guard enhances inter-agency cooperation, strengthens national defense

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance inter-agency cooperation and strengthen national defense capabilities, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Kuwaiti Army, Major General Pilot Sabah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, paid a visit to the Ministry of Interior’s Coast Guard Department at the Sabah Al-Ahmad Naval Base.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, the Army’s Deputy Chief of Staff was received by Director General of the Coast Guard, Brigadier General Sheikh Mubarak Ali Al-Sabah, along with several senior department directors. The visit aimed to bolster joint military-security cooperation and promote the exchange of expertise between the army and internal security forces.
During the visit, Coast Guard officials provided a comprehensive briefing on the department’s operational roles, advanced technologies, and coordination mechanisms with other security and military entities. The discussion covered critical areas such as the unmanned naval fleet, coastal surveillance systems, and integrated radar networks, all pivotal in maintaining maritime border security.
The two sides emphasized the strategic importance of continued collaboration, joint training exercises, and technological integration to ensure high levels of security readiness and swift response to emergencies or maritime threats.
The briefing also highlighted the Coast Guard’s initiatives to build national expertise by investing in the training and qualification of Kuwaiti personnel in the Maritime Operations Department—a move aligned with Kuwait’s goal of increasing national capabilities in defense and homeland security.
The visit concluded with a ceremonial tribute honoring both Major General Sabah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Brigadier General Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah, reflecting the high degree of coordination and mutual respect between the country’s military and internal security leadership.
This symbolic exchange underscores Kuwait’s commitment to fostering unified defense strategies amid evolving regional and global maritime security challenges.
