Deputy Army Chief inspects registration process for first batch of female officer cadets

Major General Pilot Sabah Al-Jaber, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Kuwait Army, went on inspection tour Wednesday at the Ali Al-Sabah Military College, where registration is underway for the first batch of female university graduates applying to join the military service as officer cadets.

Upon arrival at the registration center, Major General Al-Jaber was received by Brigadier General Abdullah Al-Turkait, Commander of Ali Al-Sabah Military College, along with several senior officers and officials overseeing the enrollment process, reports Al-Rai daily.

During his tour, Al-Jaber closely reviewed the registration procedures, including the verification of original documents, validation of personal data, and the initial medical examinations required to assess the applicants’ eligibility for military service.

He was briefed on the regulatory mechanisms in place to ensure that the process runs smoothly, accurately, and in accordance with established military standards.

Major General Al-Jaber praised the efficiency and professionalism demonstrated by the college’s administrative and medical teams, commending their dedication and thorough preparation. He noted that the successful management of this historic registration phase reflects the readiness and organizational competence of the institution.

The launch of this registration campaign marks a milestone in Kuwait’s military history, as it is the first time that female university graduates are being recruited for officer cadet training under the honorary military service system—a step that aligns with broader national efforts to enhance women’s participation in national defense roles.

The registration of this first female cohort is seen as a significant stride toward inclusive representation in the armed forces and is expected to pave the way for further integration of women into various military disciplines.
