Delivery motorcycles to resume normal operations from Sept 1

The General Traffic Department, in cooperation with the Public Authority for Manpower, has announced the resumption of operations for motorcycles affiliated with consumer order delivery companies, effective from Sunday, Sept 1, 2025, after their operations were suspended during the summer period.

The government, in the best interest of the workers, had slapped a ban on outdoor work from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. between June 1 and Aug 31, due to harsh summer conditions.

According to the decision, these motorcycles are permitted to operate within residential areas from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, while continuing to be prohibited from operating on highways and ring roads.

The Ministry of Interior confirms that this decision is part of efforts to regulate traffic movement and enhance road safety, noting that the suspension of motorcycle operations during the summer was driven by humanitarian concerns and a commitment to the safety of workers during periods of high temperatures.
