Decades later, Al-Tayyar’s warnings on nationality forgery hold ground
History is now bearing witness to Captain Al-Tayyar’s contributions as not merely part of the past but actively shaping the present for a more transparent future

Reports submitted by Captain Abdullah Al-Tayyar more than half a century ago are now being validated with certainty, affirming his foresight, meticulous work, and unwavering commitment to safeguarding Kuwait’s national integrity.
A prominent security source revealed to Al-Rai that Captain Al-Tayyar — may God preserve him and grant him a long life — played a vital role in the 1970s through his extensive investigative efforts. His work was characterized by a remarkable degree of accuracy, professionalism, and persistence. The reports he submitted at the time stemmed from in-depth investigations into cases related to forged identities, fraudulent citizenship claims, and violations that threatened Kuwait’s national framework.
“Some of Captain Al-Tayyar’s reports were acted upon promptly,” the source explained. “However, others were either shelved or suspended due to various factors — including political sensitivities at the time, lack of conclusive scientific evidence, or shifts in administrative priorities.”
Despite the passage of decades, the relevance and reliability of these early investigations have only grown more apparent. The source emphasized that many of the issues Captain Al-Tayyar identified in the 1970s are still being followed up on today, as new evidence and investigative tools enable authorities to reopen and reexamine those historical files.
“What we are witnessing now, in terms of uncovering forgery and reclaiming the integrity of Kuwaiti citizenship, is built upon the foundations laid by officers like Captain Al-Tayyar,” the source stated. “His legacy continues to guide our efforts. The files he flagged, the names he reported, and the suspicions he documented are proving to be accurate — not only historically, but legally and factually.”
These revelations come amid a wider campaign led by the Ministry of Interior and the Supreme Committee for the Investigation of Kuwaiti Citizenship to expose and address decades of fraud in the naturalization process. With the support of Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, the government is revisiting archived investigations, some of which originated from Captain Al-Tayyar’s work.
In the words of the source, “History is now bearing witness to the truth of those reports. Captain Al-Tayyar’s contributions are not merely part of the past — they are actively shaping the present and ensuring a more transparent future.”
