Dean of Diplomatic Corps hosts farewell for Sri Lankan and South African ambassadors

H.E. Dr. Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda praised the efforts of the two ambassadors in strengthening their countries’ relations with Kuwait across various fields, as well as their excellent cooperation with fellow diplomats.

H.E. Kandeepan Balasubramaniam, Ambassador of Sri Lanka, noted that his time in Kuwait had been a significant period in his diplomatic career, having served in the country for two terms, during which he had the opportunity to learn about Kuwait’s rich culture and its warm, friendly people.

H.E. Manelisi Genge, Ambassador of South Africa, thanked the Kuwaiti leadership, Amir, government, and people for their warm hospitality and support, adding, I will leave with wonderful memories that I will cherish for life.

 

His Excellency Dr. Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Tajikistan to Kuwait, hosted a farewell ceremony for H.E. Manelisi Genge, Ambassador of South Africa, and H.E. Kandeepan Balasubramaniam, Ambassador of Sri Lanka, marking the end of their missions in the country. The event was attended by several heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited to Kuwait.

On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda praised the efforts of the two ambassadors in strengthening their countries’ relations with Kuwait across various fields, as well as their excellent cooperation with colleagues from other countries accredited to Kuwait.

He also commended the support and facilities provided by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs to all members of the diplomatic corps, which helped them carry out their tasks smoothly. Dr. Zubaydzoda further praised Kuwait’s distinguished humanitarian and political positions.

He described Kuwait as a hospitable country that respects the diplomatic corps accredited to it and upholds international charters and treaties on this matter.

For his part, the outgoing Sri Lankan ambassador praised the strong diplomatic relations between his country and Kuwait. He noted that his time in Kuwait had been a significant period in his diplomatic career, having served in the country for two terms, during which he had the opportunity to learn about Kuwait’s rich culture and its warm, friendly people.

He also described Kuwait as a generous nation and mentioned that this would be his final diplomatic post before moving on to Canada. He revealed that a new ambassador for Sri Lanka will be appointed to Kuwait and is expected to begin his duties at the end of January.

For his part, the outgoing Ambassador of South Africa, Manelisi Genge, expressed his deep gratitude to the Kuwaiti leadership, the Amir, the government, and the people for their warm reception and hospitality, as well as their support and cooperation during his tenure.

He added, I will leave this beautiful country and its friendly people with wonderful memories that I will cherish for life.
