Databases and biometrics key to fighting cybercrime in Arab world

Director-General of Criminal Investigation, Brigadier Abdullah Al-Hassan, has emphasized the critical role of criminal databases and biometric fingerprint systems in combating cybercrimes across the Arab region.

Speaking to KUNA while chairing the 20th Arab Conference of Heads of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Evidence Agencies in Tunisia, Al-Hassan noted that the meeting is a continuation of prior efforts to unify and strengthen Arab cooperation in addressing cybercrime threats.

He described cybercrimes as the “mother of all crimes,” highlighting their connection to a wide range of offenses such as drug trafficking, human trafficking, domestic violence, and other crimes that often originate online and spill into the real world.
