Dar Al Muhama named exclusive Kuwait partner for GC Elite Leaders Kuwait 2026

  • Independent research programme to recognise the in-house legal leaders shaping business and institutions across Kuwait
  • Nominations for GC Elite Leaders Kuwait 2026 are open to General Counsel, Heads of Legal and senior in-house legal professionals working in Kuwait.
  • Nominations will close during the first week of October 2026, allowing sufficient time for GC Elite to complete its independent research and finalise the list ahead of the November event

Dar Al Muhama Law Firm has been named GC Elite’s Exclusive Country Partner in Kuwait for GC Elite Leaders Kuwait 2026, as the independent legal leadership platform begins its research and nomination process in the country.

The programme is designed to identify and recognise senior in-house legal professionals whose leadership, judgement and contribution are having a measurable impact within their organisations and across Kuwait’s business community.

Under the collaboration, Dar Al Muhama will support the development of the programme in Kuwait and engagement with the local in-house legal community, while all research, assessment and recognition decisions will remain independently led by GC Elite.

That distinction is central to the programme. Dar Al Muhama will facilitate local engagement and help broaden awareness of the initiative, but will have no role in determining who is selected or recognised.

The launch comes as the role of the General Counsel continues to expand across the region. In-house legal leaders are increasingly expected to contribute beyond traditional legal advisory work, taking a more active role in governance, risk management, regulatory strategy, business decision-making and organisational resilience.

GC Elite Leaders Kuwait 2026 will focus on individuals who demonstrate that broader form of leadership — not simply through technical legal expertise, but through the influence they bring to business decisions, institutional governance and long-term value creation.

The research process will be conducted independently by GC Elite and will draw on peer insight, market engagement and direct interaction with Kuwait’s in-house legal community.

Commenting on the launch, Gurpartap Basra CEO, GC Elite, said, “Kuwait is an important and increasingly sophisticated market, and we believe there is a compelling story to tell about the General Counsel and senior in-house legal leaders helping to shape its businesses and institutions.

“The role of the General Counsel is evolving rapidly, with legal leaders increasingly contributing to strategy, governance, risk and some of the most important decisions their organisations make,” he added.

“GC Elite Leaders Kuwait is about identifying those individuals through a genuinely independent research process, informed by the views and experiences of the in-house legal community itself. We are delighted to be working with Dar Al Muhama as our Exclusive Country Partner.

Their knowledge of the Kuwait market and support in helping us engage with the local in-house community will be invaluable, while the research, assessment and final recognition decisions will remain entirely independent and led by GC Elite,” Basra said.

Commenting on the collaboration, Abdulrahman Alhouti, Managing Partner of Dar Al Muhama, said, “The role of the General Counsel has changed significantly. Today’s legal leaders are expected not only to advise on the law, but to help organisations navigate risk, regulation, governance and increasingly complex business decisions.”

He added, “We are pleased to support GC Elite’s development in Kuwait and to help strengthen engagement with the in-house legal community. Just as importantly, the research and recognition process remains entirely independent and led by GC Elite, which is essential to the credibility of the programme.”

The initiative is also intended to provide a platform for stronger engagement across Kuwait’s in-house legal community, encouraging professional exchange around leadership, governance and the evolving role of legal departments within businesses and institutions.

Nominations now open

Nominations for GC Elite Leaders Kuwait 2026 are open to General Counsel, Heads of Legal and senior in-house legal professionals working in Kuwait. Nominations will close during the first week of October 2026, allowing sufficient time for GC Elite to complete its independent research and finalise the list ahead of the November event.

Those recognised through the programme are expected to be acknowledged at a dedicated event in Kuwait in November 2026, bringing together members of the country’s legal and business community.

Further information and nominations are available through GC Elite’s Kuwait page: http://gcelite.com/country/kuwait/

As GC Elite’s Exclusive Country Partner in Kuwait, Dar Al Muhama will support local engagement and programme development while remaining separate from GC Elite’s independent research, assessment and recognition process.
