Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah opens 31st cultural season

The Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah (DAI) on Monday inaugurated its 31st cultural season at the Yarmouk Cultural Centre, featuring a programme of lectures, exhibitions, concerts, performances and specialised workshops. The season brings together local and international experts for scientific and cultural lectures, alongside films and activities for children and families.

DAI Director General and Supervisor Sheikha Hussa Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah attended the opening, along with diplomats, academics, media representatives and cultural and heritage enthusiasts. Sheikha Hussa said the new season continues the cultural vision established by the late Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, with children and younger generations placed at the centre of this year’s programme.

She stressed that raising awareness among future generations about their heritage and identity represents a long-term investment, adding that DAI’s cultural mission remains continuous and renewed each year. Badr Al-Buaijan, head of the DAI Friends founding committee, said the programme includes two main types of activities, including the regular lectures and discussions held every Monday at DAI.
The season also features exhibitions, films, family and children’s programmes and workshops, offering an integrated cultural experience that combines knowledge with artistic engagement and strengthens DAI’s role as a leading cultural institution.
