Cybersecurity emerges as the cornerstone of stability and data safety

Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to initiatives that empower national competencies and build a secure digital future.

Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, hailed the ‘Kuwait 2024 Hackathon’ as a catalyst for innovation, boosting digital skills and empowering youth to protect Kuwait’s cyberspace.

Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, emphasized that cybersecurity has emerged as a cornerstone for ensuring societal stability and safeguarding the data of individuals and institutions, as reported by Al Jaridanewspaper.

The speech delivered by Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef during the closing ceremony of the “Kuwait 2024 Hackathon” emphasized the importance of fostering innovation and cybersecurity among Kuwait’s youth.

Organized by the National Center for Cyber Security in cooperation with CODED, the event was attended by Omar Al-Omar, Minister of State for Communications Affairs, and Dima Al-Sumait, the President of the National Center for Cyber Security.

Sheikh Fahad highlighted that the competition aims to nurture creativity, enhance digital capabilities, and empower participants to protect Kuwait’s cyberspace. He described such initiatives as catalysts for innovation and engines of creative thinking, expressing pride in the participants for demonstrating exceptional talent and potential.

He extended his gratitude to sponsors, supporters, organizers, and volunteers, whose efforts contributed to the event’s success, and reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to initiatives that empower national competencies and build a secure digital future.

The ceremony concluded with Sheikh Fahad honoring the winning teams: Rax.mov secured first place, followed by COD SHADOW in second place and BOOMSEC in third.

For his part, Ahmed Marafi, the CEO and co-founder of CODED Academy, stated during his speech at the ceremony said that we have launched training programs such as Coded Juniors, which educates children aged 7 to 13, the Kuwait Programming initiative, X Academy for Programming and Entrepreneurship Education for high school students, the Unicode initiative for university students, and the Data Science camp, specializing in data science and artificial intelligence.”

Marafi added, “We launched the first edition of the Kuwait Hackathon, where many young men and women participated in this unique experience.”

Marafi expressed gratitude to Sheikh Fahad and ministerOmar Al-Omar for their support, noting their presence reflects the government’s commitment to empowering Kuwaiti talent.

It is noteworthy that the competition was held under the patronage of the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior and aimed to foster a spirit of competition among ambitious and creative Kuwaiti youth in the field of cybersecurity.
