Customs seize 3,144 bottles of liquor hidden among metal sheets shipment from France

Kuwait Customs has foiled an attempt to smuggle 3,144 bottles of liquor concealed inside a shipment declared as iron sheets, the General Administration of Customs announced in a press statement.

According to the statement, the Customs Investigation and Search Department grew suspicious of a container arriving from the French Republic and belonging to a local company. The suspicion was based on prior investigations and close monitoring of import movements.

Although the customs documents listed the contents as iron sheets, officers conducted a thorough inspection after opening the container.

The search revealed thousands of liquor bottles carefully hidden in a secret and tightly secured manner within the shipment, in clear violation of the country’s laws and regulations.

The seized items were confiscated, and the necessary legal measures have been initiated against those involved.
