Customs officers directed to exclude family name from IDs
Employees holding roles in customs inspection, security, and safety must use their full names from their civil IDs on their work IDs.
Abdullah Al-Sharhan, the Director General of the General Administration of Customs, issued a circular mandating that employees in positions such as customs inspection, security, and safety must display their full names as they appear on their civil IDs on their work IDs, omitting the family surname. The decision, effective as of Sunday, was reported by Al Rai newspaper.
This decision is based on instructions from Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior.
