Customs K9 Unit foils drug smuggling attempt
. . . seizes 4,550 pills and 5,200 kg of marijuana from Iran shipment

Kuwait’s General Administration of Customs foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotic substances through Doha Port.
In a statement published on its “X” platform, the Customs Department said inspectors from the Northern Ports and Failaka Island Customs Administration, in coordination with the Customs Intelligence Department and supported by the Customs K9 Unit, uncovered the narcotics hidden inside a shipment arriving from Iran.
Based on intelligence gathering and risk analysis, authorities grew suspicious of one of the incoming vessels. A thorough inspection of the declared cargo, which was listed as animal feed, revealed approximately 4,550 pills suspected to be psychoactive substances and around 5,200 kilograms of marijuana concealed inside the shipment.
A seizure report has been filed, and the confiscated items have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further legal action.
The Customs Department has reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to combatting all forms of drug smuggling and preventing the entry of prohibited substances into the country.
