Customs foils chewing tobacco smuggling attempt at Shuaiba Port

The General Administration of Customs announced Monday that it had thwarted an attempt to smuggle chewing tobacco, a banned substance in Kuwait, through Shuaiba Port. The illegal shipment was discovered hidden in a secret compartment inside a container, designed to evade customs inspection.
In an official statement, the administration explained that customs inspectors grew suspicious of the container, prompting a thorough search using advanced inspection technologies. Their efforts led to the discovery of the concealed compartment and the seizure of its contents.
Authorities have arrested an Asian national who was scheduled to receive the shipment, and legal proceedings have been initiated.
The Customs Administration reaffirmed its commitment to bolstering inspection efforts and maintaining high levels of vigilance to combat smuggling activities, protect national security, and ensure the safety of society.
