Customs directs employees to adhere to official uniform

Employees will work an eight-hour shift per day for six days straight, followed by 48 hours of weekly rest.

Abdullah Al-Sharhan, the Acting Director General of the General Administration of Customs, issued a circular mandating employees’ to wear the official administration uniform in all customs areas, following directives from Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, according to Al Rai newspaper.

Al-Sharhan, in the text of the decision obtained by Al-Rai newspaper, called for all employees, from department directors downward, regardless of their roles in customs, administration, technical, or secretarial positions, to wear the official department uniform. The decision is set to be implemented starting Sunday, July 14.

Al-Sharhan also issued another decision to amend Article 2 of Administrative Resolution No. 684 dated June 25.

The amendment establishes an eight-hour shift work system per day for six consecutive days, with employees entitled to 48 hours of rest per week. Those under this work system will receive shift allowances, food allowances, and financial rewards for night work hours.
