Customs dept boosts security, combats smuggling with cutting-edge security technology
Introduces new pallet inspection device at Nuwaiseeb Port

The General Administration of Customs announced on Friday the activation of a new pallet inspection device at Nuwaiseeb Port, expanding its advanced inspection network. According to a statement on the agency’s official website, this move aligns with its strategic efforts to modernize customs operations and streamline procedures in line with the latest local and international security standards.
The new device, one of the latest innovations in precise security inspection technology, aims to strengthen customs oversight and act as a key tool in detecting smuggling attempts and mitigating potential threats to national security, reports Al-Jarida daily.
The administration highlighted that similar advanced systems have already been deployed at Shuwaikh Port, Doha Port, Air Cargo Customs, and the Sulaibiya and Vegetable Market Customs Departments. This reflects a continued commitment to equipping all customs points with cutting-edge security technologies.
The equipment was manufactured by Smiths Detection, a global leader in screening and inspection systems, underscoring Kuwait Customs’ dedication to upgrading its infrastructure with world-class solutions.
