Customs, CID men foil attempt to smuggle kerosene and diesel out of Kuwait

The General Administration of Customs, in coordination with the General Department of Criminal Investigation, successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle containers filled with kerosene and diesel out of Kuwait.

According to a statement by the Customs Department, and under the directives of Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, the operation was part of ongoing joint efforts between security and regulatory agencies. Working closely with the Ministry of Interior’s Criminal Security Sector, customs officials intercepted five containers belonging to three companies, reports Al-Anba daily.

During inspection, the containers were found to contain barrels filled with suspicious substances. Samples were taken and sent to state-run technical laboratories, where analysis confirmed the presence of kerosene in some of them.

Further investigations revealed that two companies were involved in exporting materials, with tests conducted by the Environment Public Authority confirming the presence of diesel in certain samples.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to coordinated efforts with all relevant agencies to confront violations, stressing that Kuwait’s natural resources are a red line. Authorities vowed to enforce the law strictly and without exception.

The ministry also urged all companies and institutions to strictly adhere to existing laws and regulations, warning that any attempt to undermine the country’s resources will be met with decisive and uncompromising action.
