Crown Prince receives GCC Defense Ministers during Joint Defense Council Meeting
His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received today at Bayan Palace the defense ministers and senior officials of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), who are in Kuwait for the 22nd session of the GCC Joint Defense Council.
Among the dignitaries welcomed were UAE Minister of State for Defense Affairs Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Fadel Al-Mazrouei; Bahrain’s Minister of Defense Affairs Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Hassan Al-Nuaimi; Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs Shihab bin Tariq bin Taimur Al Said; Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani; GCC Secretary-General Jassim Al-Budaiwi; and Kuwait’s Chief of Army General Staff Lieutenant General Al-Shuraian.
His Highness conveyed the greetings of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and wished the participating ministers’ success in their deliberations and cooperation efforts.
The meeting was attended by the Head of the Crown Prince’s Diwan, Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, along with several senior officials.
Later in the day, His Highness also received the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Iraq and Head of the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), Ambassador H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Awad Al-Hassan, on the occasion of his visit to Kuwait.
