The Court of Cassation has upheld the Court of Appeal’s decision to sentence a citizen to death for fatally shooting his mother-in-law with a Kalashnikov on Al-Wafra Road, Arabic daily Al Rai reported.
The Public Prosecution accused the defendant of the premeditated murder of his wife’s mother, stating that he had planned the ambush in advance. He allegedly prepared a Kalashnikov, went to her estate, and lay in wait. When she appeared with her daughter, he attempted to stop them. As they tried to flee, he opened fire with the intent to kill. The bullets struck his wife’s mother, resulting in her death.
The Public Prosecution also charged him with the attempted murder of his wife and with possession of a Kalashnikov and ammunition without a license.
