Countdown begins for Thanima 19th National Tug of War Championship

Thanima Kuwait, the cultural community of expatriate Malayalis in Kuwait, is preparing for the eagerly awaited 19th National Tug of War Championship, Onathanima 2025, set to take place on November 28 at the Integrated Indian School, Abbassiya.
The event promises a lively celebration of Kerala’s rich cultural heritage, featuring the presentation of the “Pearl of the School” Awards, a colorful cultural procession, and captivating musical performances.
Designed to evoke nostalgia and provide a sense of home away from home, Onathanima 2025 is dedicated to the entire expatriate community in Kuwait.
Festivities will kick off at 12:00 pm, followed by major cultural performances with the awards ceremony slated for 5:00 pm. The centerpiece of the day, the tug of war championship, will see teams vying for one of Asia’s biggest rolling trophies, along with special recognitions for outstanding performances.
Participating athletes have undergone four months of intensive training, balancing work, family responsibilities that define the spirit of Thanima Kuwait.
