Council approves direct contract with China to fast-track Mubarak Port completion

The Council of Ministers, after reviewing a visual presentation on the latest developments in the memorandum of understanding between Kuwait and China regarding the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project, agreed to adopt the nomination submitted by the Chinese government.

Moreover, this approval sets the stage for finalizing a direct contract with the Chinese State Construction and Communications Corporation Limited, a subsidiary of the Chinese Ministry of Transport. The agreement will encompass the implementation, management, and operation of the port project in all its stages.

During its weekly meeting at Bayan Palace, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah, the Council of Ministers called on all government agencies to collaborate in speeding up the completion of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project.

Importantly, the goal is to transform the port into a regional transportation hub, which will play a pivotal role in the development of the northern region as an integrated economic and urban system.

After a visual presentation by the Minister of Social Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, on the central aid system designed to offer a unified portal for distributing aid to those in need, the Council was informed of the approval to dissolve and liquidate certain charitable organizations. This decision was made due to their failure to comply with laws and regulations, as well as their continued involvement in violations.
