Coops set 5-carton limit on water purchases amid exceptional circumstances

The Union of Cooperative Societies has announced a temporary limit on the purchase of bottled water in cooperative outlets, setting the maximum allowance at five cartons per customer.

In a circular issued by the appointed director of the Union, Mariam Al-Awad, the decision applies to both central markets and all branches affiliated with cooperative societies across the country.

The circular explained that the measure comes in response to the exceptional circumstances currently being experienced by the country, aiming to regulate demand and ensure the availability of water supplies for all consumers, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Union emphasized that the decision is a precautionary step intended to maintain market balance and prevent shortages, while guaranteeing fair access to essential goods for shoppers during the current period.
