Communications Ministry issues new guidelines for employee transfers to boost efficiency

The Ministry of Communications has announced a new decision to organize and streamline the internal transfer process for employees across its various sectors.

The decision, issued by Undersecretary Mishaal Al-Zaid, is part of ongoing efforts to meet operational needs and adapt to the evolving organizational structure of the ministry, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to the ministry, employee transfer requests will now be accepted only during January and July of each year, using a standardized form available on the ministry’s official website. Each request must adhere to specific rules and criteria to ensure smooth implementation and maintain service efficiency.

Key among these regulations is the requirement for obtaining approvals from the employee’s current department and the receiving unit. Transfers will only be considered if they do not disrupt the staffing balance or workflow in the original sector, and employees must typically serve a minimum period in their current position before being eligible — unless exceptional circumstances apply.

Additionally, critical departments, such as the communications sector, will be exempt from general transfer procedures unless explicitly approved under special conditions.

The ministry emphasized the importance of completing all required documentation and securing proper endorsements before submitting transfer requests.

It also urged all employees to comply with the new resolution, noting that the primary objective is to maintain workforce stability and enhance the ministry’s overall service performance.
