Committee discusses Kuwait’s government building architecture

The Technical Committee of the Municipal Council successfully addressed several key items, including building heights and setbacks.

The Municipal Council’s Technical Committee decided to refer member Fahd Al-Abduljader’s proposal on abandoned properties back to the executive body for a revised response.

During its meeting, the committee also discussed two other proposals by member Fahd Al-Abduljader: one regarding public school parking lots and another regarding the allocation of markets for local agricultural products in each governorate. Additionally, they addressed member engineer Munira Al-Amir’s proposal regarding the architectural identity of government buildings in Kuwait.

The joint committee comprising the technical, legal, and financial committees held a meeting yesterday to continue discussions on the building regulation schedule for investment housing buildings within and outside Kuwait City.

During the meeting, the committee successfully addressed several key items, including building heights and setbacks. The upcoming meetings will focus on completing the remaining items on the schedule.

Dr. Hassan Kamal, the committee’s head, mentioned that they were able to discuss the items in the presence of the structural plan administration. They also received clarifications on the fourth and third structural plans, as well as confirmed the schedule’s alignment with the urban strategy and vision outlined in the state’s structural plans.
