Commitment to official sources is professional obligation, violators will be punished

Every media outlet is fully responsible for the accuracy of the news it publishes, transmits, or republishes

In a firm statement issued Monday, the Ministry of Information has underscored the vital responsibility of all media outlets — whether visual, print, or electronic — to rely strictly on official sources when reporting news.

The Ministry has stressed once again that this is not just best practice, but a professional duty, essential for preserving the media credibility and upholding national responsibility, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Ministry has warned that publishing rumors or false information undermines public trust and will not be tolerated.

Any violations of this directive will be met with accountability in accordance with relevant laws, systems, and procedures.

It further stated that every media outlet is fully responsible for the accuracy of the news it publishes, transmits, or republishes, making clear that any misleading or inaccurate content will subject the source to legal and professional consequences.

The Ministry concluded by calling for unwavering commitment to professional standards and the integrity of information shared with the public.
