Commerce Ministry bans selling cigarettes, tobacco via delivery platforms

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued on Sunday a decree No. 27 of 2026 prohibiting the selling of all types of tobacco and
cigarettes, including e-cigarettes and relevant devices and tools, through delivery platforms or any other similar digital methods.
In a press statement, the ministry said that the step came within the framework of organizing and limiting the selling of these processes through such platforms, in a manner that ensures commitment to the implemented regulations, reports Kuna.
The ministry stressed that it would implement one punishment or more against those violators, it said.
The punishments include issuing a warning to the facility committing violations, a temporary administrative closure of the activity and cancelling the licence in case of repeated violations.
