Commerce Ministry activates digital system to track vehicle repair and parts complaints

Director of the Commercial Control Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Faisal Al-Ansari, announced the activation of an electronic system to handle complaints related to vehicle repairs and spare parts.
The new system, launched in cooperation with the Technical Inspection Department of the General Traffic Department at the Ministry of Interior, aims to streamline submission of complaints, verification, and follow-up through an integrated digital platform.
Al-Ansari told Al-Rai that the automated vehicle complaints monitoring system enables consumers to electronically submit complaints concerning vehicle maintenance or the purchase of spare parts directly to the Ministry of Commerce.
Once received, the complaint will be handled by the designated inspector and referred electronically to the Technical Inspection Department for validation and further investigation.
He added that the Ministry of Commerce recently held a coordination meeting chaired by Acting Undersecretary Marwa Al-Jaidan, with representatives from the Technical Inspection Department, to discuss the new electronic mechanism.
The meeting focused on enhancing the speed of response, improving the quality of complaint resolution, and strengthening collaboration between the two government entities.
In a related development, Al-Ansari revealed that the Commercial Control Department is conducting joint inspection campaigns with the Ahmadi and Farwaniya Criminal Investigation Departments to identify and close down establishments violating commercial and health regulations.
He noted that several establishments were shut down last week, including food outlets, men’s barbershops, and health massage parlors, due to violations such as non-compliance with regulations, the use of adulterated materials, and expired products.
Al-Ansari emphasized that inspection teams continue to intensify field campaigns across various sectors to ensure adherence to laws and protect consumers from fraudulent or unsafe practices.
He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to maintaining a fair and transparent commercial environment through strict enforcement and modern monitoring tools.
