Cold wave to grip Kuwait for five days, temperatures to drop below 3°C

- Motorists, particularly those traveling on highways, have been urged to exercise caution due to reduced visibility in some areas.
- Asthma and allergy sufferers were also advised to wear masks when outdoors as dust levels remain elevated, especially with high humidity.
The Acting Director of the Meteorological Department, Darrar Al-Ali, has announced that the country will be affected by an extension of a high-pressure system accompanied by a very cold and dry air mass, beginning this evening and continuing for the next five days, reports Al-Rai daily.
Al-Ali explained that the cold spell will be accompanied by light to moderate northwesterly winds ranging between 10 and 35 kilometers per hour, leading to a significant drop in temperatures, particularly in agricultural and desert areas, where readings are expected to fall below three degrees Celsius, with a high likelihood of formation of frost.
He added that maximum temperatures during this period will range between 14 and 16 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures will drop to between 2 and 5 degrees Celsius.
As a result, weather conditions will be cool to cold during the daytime and cold to very cold at night.
Al-Ali noted that the country is currently experiencing cloudy conditions and suspended dust, which has led to reduced horizontal visibility. He indicated that visibility is expected to gradually improve during the evening hours.
Motorists, particularly those traveling on highways, have been urged to exercise caution due to reduced visibility in some areas.
Asthma and allergy sufferers were also advised to wear masks when outdoors as dust levels remain elevated, especially with high humidity.
He stressed the importance of following weather updates through the department’s official website, mobile application, and social media platforms to stay informed of the latest developments.
