Meteorologist Issa Ramadan has warned of a sharp drop in temperatures as a cold wave moves across the country, bringing cooler air, increased cloud cover, and a slight chance of scattered rainfall.
Ramadan said the weather will range from cloudy to partly cloudy, accompanied by moderate to occasionally strong northwesterly winds. He cautioned that the “feels-like” temperature could dip below zero degrees Celsius during the early hours of Sunday and Monday.
According to forecast, minimum temperatures at dawn are expected to fall to between 1 and 4 degrees Celsius in desert areas, while residential and suburban areas will see lows of 4 to 9 degrees. He noted that the combination of cold air and persistent winds will intensify the chill, particularly overnight.
Ramadan added that the cold spell will continue through the end of the week, with nights remaining sharply cold and daytime temperatures ranging from cold to relatively cool.
However, he said conditions are expected to ease toward the weekend, when daytime highs may climb to between 20 and 23 degrees Celsius.
He urged campers and desert visitors to take extra precautions during the early morning hours due to the severe cold, and advised farmers to remain alert to the risk of frost formation at dawn, which could affect crops.
