CMA confirms rights of certain residents after citizenship revocation

Following a circular issued by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) 12 days ago, individuals whose citizenships were revoked but who hold Article 8 (wives of Kuwaitis) and Article 5 (good deeds) status have regained the right to trade on the Kuwait Stock Exchange under the title ‘Kuwaiti treatment’.
The circular, based on Cabinet decisions, confirms that these individuals are entitled to the same rights and benefits as Kuwaiti citizens in relation to stock trading.
In response, many affected individuals have rushed to brokerage firms to resume buying and selling activities, taking advantage of the restored trading privileges, reports Al-Rai daily.
This move reflects the significance of the CMA’s clarification in enabling residents under Article 8 and Article 5 status to participate fully in the Kuwaiti financial markets.
