Civilian employee arrested for helping travel-ban individuals escape Kuwait

The Criminal Security Sector has referred a civilian employee to the Public Prosecution for allegedly helping persons banned from travel escape the country, in exchange for monetary bribes estimated at KD 500 per case.
According to a security source, the suspect, who worked at a border port, was identified following intelligence reports. Investigators then set a trap for him and caught him red-handed while helping a police agent (who pretended he has a travel ban) leave the country, reports Al-Anba daily.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime but claimed his actions were purely for humanitarian considerations, expressing confidence that the individuals he helped would eventually return to the country.
The authorities are currently conducting a full inventory of all those who were helped by the suspect to illegally leave the country.
The sources said, more arrests are expected to happen as investigations continue into the incident.
