Civil Service Council allows transfer of specialized employees between ministries

A Ministry of Transportation employee with a nursing degree can move to the Ministry of Health, while a Ministry of Commerce employee with an education degree can transfer to the Ministry of Education.

The Civil Service Council has decided to extend the implementation of Resolution No. 10 of 2013, halting the transfer of employees between ministries for the 12th consecutive year.

Sources reported to Al-Anbaa newspaper that the Civil Service Council has decided to permit the transfer of employees holding specialized certificates between ministries. They explained that employees currently employed in any ministry can request transfers upon obtaining specialized certificates.

For instance, an employee at the Ministry of Transportation who earns a bachelor’s degree in nursing can transfer to the Ministry of Health. Similarly, an employee at the Ministry of Commerce who earns a bachelor’s degree from the College of Education or the College of Basic Education can transfer to the Ministry of Education.

The sources confirmed that this decision represents an exception to Resolution No. 10 of 2013, which halted inter-ministerial transfers. It is noteworthy that an exception to this moratorium now allows residents of Al-Wafra, Al-Khiran, and Sabah Al-Ahmad to work within government agencies in these specific areas.
