Civil Service announces record 8,500 job nominations in July

Civil Service Commission nominates 1,600 candidates for government jobs, making total number of nominees for the month 8,500.

  • Remaining nominees include engineers in stagnant specializations (industrial, chemical, and petroleum) and some bachelor’s and diploma holders who have declined offered opportunities.

  • New job openings include environmental safety, projects, and contracts engineers, as well as assistant engineers with diplomas.

Kuwait’s Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced a surge in government job nominations, with a record-breaking 1,600 Kuwaiti citizens nominated in July alone.

This brings the total number of nominees for the month to an impressive 8,500, according to Al-Anba newspaper.

This latest batch of nominees represents a wide range of specializations, including education, political science, and many others. The nominations encompass individuals who registered up to the 86th registration period.

Head of the Civil Service Commission, Dr. Issam Al-Rubaian acknowledged that some nominees, particularly engineers in stagnant specializations like industrial, chemical, and petroleum, remain unplaced.

He also noted that some bachelor’s and diploma holders have declined offered positions, opting to wait for more suitable opportunities.

Dr. Al-Rubaian elaborated on the situation with engineers in stagnant specializations. He explained that nominations for these fields will depend on the specific needs of government ministries, which are expected to be communicated within the next ten days. He expressed optimism that these incoming needs will address the backlog of waiting nominees.

The delay in nominating engineers from these specializations aimed to provide them with a wider range of employment options by allowing them to explore opportunities offered by various institutions.

The latest job openings announced by the CSC include positions for environmental safety engineers, project engineers, and contract engineers.

Nominations for these roles will be accompanied by nominations for “assistant engineers” with diplomas, creating a wider range of opportunities for qualified candidates.
