Citizen admits to forging Kuwaiti nationality

In a recent case of forged Kuwaiti citizenship being heard by the courts, the Criminal Court witnessed detailed confessions from a citizen working in the military.

The individual admitted to registering a Syrian under his name to allow the latter to benefit from the privileges of Kuwaiti citizenship.

The first defendant, the citizen, appeared in the dock alongside the Syrian forger. Both individuals are currently being held in custody as the case proceeds.

After being charged by the court, the citizen stated to the Judge, that the second defendant was his wife’s brother. And he brought him from Syria when he was two months old to sponsor him in Kuwait. He registered his wife’s brother in his name, which he did with good intentions on his part.

The forger added that he was involved in forging official documents so that his Syrian wife’s brother would become a Kuwaiti citizen like them.

This case is still pending before the court, with the citizen and the Syrian accused of forging nationality still in detention.
