China has begun an operation to evacuate its citizens from Iran as tensions in the region continue to escalate. According to China News Service, the first group of Chinese nationals left Tehran by land to Turkmenistan on Tuesday.
The report, published Wednesday, did not specify the number of evacuees but confirmed that the move was part of a government-organized evacuation effort.
China’s action reflects growing international unease as multiple countries, including the United States and Germany, have also taken steps to protect their citizens amid the widening crisis.
