Child Protection Association launches new training season focused on “Positive Parenting”

This initiative aims to equip parents and caregivers with practical tools and strategies to foster healthy, supportive, caring, and nurturing environments for children.

The National Society for Child Protection launched its new training season with a specialized educational course for parents in raising children, which was attended by a number people, specifically those who were interested in the field of children.

Titled as, “Positive Parenting” the course was conducted by trainer Tariq Al-Nahham who introduced the parents to various stages of child development and their psychological and behavioral needs, and providing them with the skills necessary for effective communication with their children.

Moreover, Dr. Suhaim Al-Furaih, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Association, said that the new training season includes eight training courses as part of the Association’s plan.

She stressed further about the aim of the training, which intended in harnessing capabilities and providing all the necessary psychological, legal and social expertise that touches on various issues related to children, their protection and providing a safe environment for them, starting from their first incubator, which is their homes, and those concerned with them, which are their parents.

Al-Furaih added that the first course included a technical explanation of the mechanisms of proper upbringing and discipline by enhancing parents’ skills in a sound and effective manner to reach positive parenting methods and avoid corporal punishment.

Furthermore, the lecturer sought to provide effective strategies for dealing with problematic behaviors in children and helping parents create a safe and supportive family environment for their children.

On an important aspect, Tariq Al-Nahham pointed out the importance of the relationship between parents and their children, given that the child spends most of his time with his parents, and while many factors affect his learning, the learning environment at home contributes the most to his development.

Summing up his views, Al-Nahham shared that raising a child is not limited to meeting his basic needs, but extends to include meeting his psychological needs, and parents are the ones who are most capable of providing the necessary support to their children.
