CENTCOM accuses Iran of deliberate drone strike on Kuwait International Airport

Iran claimed Wednesday that it did not attack the passenger area at Kuwait International Airport and that the damage was instead caused by an American interceptor missile. This is completely false – CENTCOM

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) on Wednesday accused Iran of carrying out a deliberate drone attack on Kuwait International Airport, rejecting Tehran’s assertion that damage to the airport’s passenger terminal was caused by a U.S. interceptor missile.

In a statement published on the social media platform X, CENTCOM described the incident as a “deliberate, calculated, and unjustified” attack targeting civilian infrastructure.

“Iran claimed Wednesday that it did not attack the passenger area at Kuwait International Airport and that the damage was instead caused by an American interceptor missile. This is completely false,” the statement said.

CENTCOM further asserted that Iranian drones directly struck the civilian airport, causing damage to the passenger terminal.

The command added that the attack was intentional and unjustified, emphasizing that the airport was a civilian facility. The statement comes amid conflicting accounts regarding the source of the damage sustained at Kuwait International Airport.

Iran has denied responsibility for striking the passenger area, while U.S. military officials maintain that the damage was caused by Iranian drones rather than a U.S. defensive interceptor missile.
