Celebrations with the spirit of responsibility

With the advent of the National and Liberation Days holidays, concerned authorities called for mindful celebrations with a spirit of patriotism and loyalty, with a sense of responsibility towards public property and fellow citizens and residents.

The Kuwait Municipality stressed the importance of increasing public awareness and reducing any misconduct by adhering to the municipality’s hygiene regulations.

The Environment Public Authority cited its concerted efforts with the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Environmental Police, to implement the Environmental Protection Law to prevent any untoward incidents.

The Director of the Environmental Police Department, Brigadier General Dr. Hussein Al-Ajmi, said that the Environmental Police strives to conduct celebrations within the context of a shared social responsibility, reflected in its motto of the year “We celebrate responsibly,” to emphasize love of the homeland and the importance of preserving its environment.

On its part, the Ministry of Interior has prepared a security plan, and will deploy about seven thousand personnel, especially on the coming Sunday and Monday, with the aim of securing the sites that witness the highest traffic and gathering of citizens.

In a statement to reporters yesterday, during his sponsorship and attendance at the closing ceremony of the eighth World Elite Assault Team Competition, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, responded to a question regarding the security preparedness for the celebrations, saying: “You will see these preparations on the ground, and I will be present on the field and on Al Khaleej Street myself to supervise the security plan, and to ensure that the celebrations proceed with the tightest security, because the safety of every citizen and resident is important to us.”

The sources said, “There is coordination between the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Commerce, the Environment Public Authority, and the Kuwait Municipality, with the aim of arresting anyone who sells water balloons, uses foam, or sells water weapons, and even those who use them.”
