Cassation hands 7-year prison term, fine for forgery, salary fraud

The Court of Cassation has sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen, a government employee to seven years in prison and imposed a fine of 143,000 dinars after convicting him of forging an academic certificate and receiving salary based on the strength of the document.

The defendant was referred to trial after investigators revealed that he had submitted a forged high school diploma, purportedly issued by a school in a Gulf country, to secure his government job.

This falsified document formed the basis of his employment, allowing him to unlawfully collect salaries to which he was not entitled.

The court’s ruling underscores the serious legal consequences of falsifying academic credentials, especially when used to gain government employment and financial benefits illegally.
