CAPT approves 1 billion dinars wastewater plant project in New Kabd

The Board of Directors of the Central Agency for Public Tenders has approved a direct contract for the construction of the wastewater treatment plant in the new northern Kabd area, with a total value exceeding one billion Kuwaiti dinars.

Informed sources revealed that the Agency will formally notify the Ministry of Public Works, the project’s implementing authority, of the approval, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Ministry is expected to submit the contract to the State Audit Bureau next Sunday to obtain final clearance, paving the way for the signing of the contract with the Chinese company selected to execute the project.

The sources noted that members of the Agency’s Board previously held a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Public Works last Wednesday, during which they reviewed the contract in detail and examined the terms and conditions governing the project’s implementation phases.

The wastewater treatment plant project is considered one of the strategic infrastructure projects, aimed at supporting urban expansion in northern Kabd and enhancing wastewater management capacity in line with Kuwait’s development plans.
