Camping violations can result fines up to 5,000 dinars
The Kuwait Municipality spokesperson and Public Relations Director, Muhammad Al-Sindan, confirmed that with the start of the spring camping season at midnight, this year’s season will feature new guidelines aimed at preserving the natural environment and wildlife.
Al-Sindan also announced the launch of an awareness campaign titled “#Your_Camping_Is_Beautiful_With_Your_License” to encourage responsible camping.
In a press statement, Al-Sindan mentioned that the Municipality, in cooperation with the Municipal Council, has prepared a comprehensive list of regulations for the camping season to ensure proper organization. He emphasized that strict fines will be imposed for violations to maintain order and protect the environment.
Al-Sindan announced that the new regulation imposes fines ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 dinars for several violations.
These include: setting up a spring camp or conducting permitted activities without a municipality license; camping outside the designated season, which begins on November 15th; obtaining a license through fraud; exceeding the licensed site, area, or period; or using firearms for training at the campsite. These measures are part of efforts to ensure the proper management of spring camps according to the Environmental Protection Law.
The regulation also emphasizes preserving the natural environment and protecting wildlife. It prohibits the construction of permanent facilities using construction materials, the creation of earthen barriers or harmful fences to mark camp locations, and any activities such as digging trenches, excavating soil, or moving earth from one place to another.
