Cabinet revokes citizenship of 7 people and their dependents

The Kuwaiti Cabinet has issued a decision to withdraw the citizenship certificates of seven individuals, along with those who acquired citizenship through them by dependency.

The move was made under Article 21 bis “A” of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959 on the Kuwaiti Nationality Law and its amendments.

The law stipulates that citizenship shall be revoked if it was granted unlawfully due to fraud, false statements, or incorrect documentation, reports Al-Rai daily.

The withdrawal is enacted by a Cabinet decision based on a proposal from the Minister of Interior.

The revocation also applies to anyone who obtained citizenship through the primary holders of the certificate.
