Cabinet orders withdrawal of citizenship from four individuals

The Council of Ministers has issued a decision to withdraw Kuwaiti citizenship certificates from four individuals, as well as from those who acquired citizenship through them by dependency, in accordance with Article 21 bis (A) of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959 concerning the Kuwaiti Nationality Law and its amendments.

The decision was taken after it was established that the citizenship had been granted unlawfully.

Article 21 bis (A) stipulates that Kuwaiti nationality shall be withdrawn if it is proven that it was obtained through fraud, false statements, or incorrect documentation. The law further states that the withdrawal shall be carried out by a decision of the Council of Ministers, based on a proposal submitted by the Minister of Interior.

The provision also applies to individuals who acquired Kuwaiti nationality by dependency from the holder of the withdrawn certificate.
