Cabinet cracks down on industrial violations, 50+ licenses cancelled

The Council of Ministers, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah, has called on the Public Authority for Industry to intensify efforts to enforce laws and regulations against violators of industrial plot licenses.

The move aims to protect compliant factories, strengthen the seriousness of the industrial sector, and foster an environment that supports Kuwait’s national economy.

To reinforce oversight, the Cabinet decided to form a ministerial committee headed by the Minister of Commerce and Industry and comprising the Ministers of Health, State for Municipal Affairs, Justice, and Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, reports Al-Rai daily.

The committee will review decisions issued by the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Industry and related committees, and will submit regular reports to the Cabinet.

Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Al-Ajeel Al-Askar informed the Council that the Authority has withdrawn or canceled licenses for more than 50 industrial, service, and craft plots in the past three months due to serious violations. He confirmed that legal measures will continue against violators to ensure compliance with regulations.

On digital transformation, the Cabinet urged continued development of the “Sahel” unified government e-services application.

Minister of State for Communications Affairs Omar Saud Al-Omar and the Executive Committee of the application presented a visual briefing highlighting achievements, upcoming plans, and the rollout of new integrated services.

The Council also approved accepting donations from state-owned oil companies, cooperatives, and private firms for landscaping projects along key roads and streets.

In addition, it endorsed the minutes of the Higher Committee for the Investigation of Kuwaiti Nationality, which included cases of loss and withdrawal of Kuwaiti citizenship.
