‘Bureau’ reinforces mandatory automated fingerprint for government employees

. . . periodic follow-ups will be conducted to verify continued compliance of government agencies with the automated attendance system

Kuwait’s Civil Service Bureau has instructed government institutions to continue automated integration with the Civil Service’s unified systems, stressing that the system is essential to ensuring accurate attendance, departure and presence records and enforcing official working rules and regulations.

The directive applies to government entities covered by the Civil Service Council’s decisions governing official working hours and related procedures. Agencies are required to maintain the automated link, particularly for fingerprint-based attendance and departure records, and comply with the applicable rules and controls.

The Bureau said the automated system also enables government employees to access administrative services through its mobile application and website, including requests for various types of permission and leave, as well as assignments for duties outside the workplace. Paper forms for these services are to be discontinued.

The Bureau said addressing any technical or operational issues affecting the automated link is necessary to ensure the accuracy of employees’ attendance and departure records and the proper application of the resulting procedures, particularly those related to employee performance evaluation.
It added that periodic follow-ups will be conducted to verify government agencies’ continued compliance with the automated attendance system, implementation of official work regulations and full activation of electronic administrative services.
