The British Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Qudsi Rashid, affirmed the “Britain in Kuwait” exhibition provides a unique opportunity to showcase British culture, business sectors, and society, alongside the British brands present in the Kuwaiti market, reflecting the depth of the historical ties between the two friendly countries.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the 13th British Week in Kuwait, held the day before yesterday at the Asimah Mall in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, a number of sheikhs, officials, citizens, and heads of diplomatic missions, the ambassador noted that the exhibition does not merely highlight shared heritage and enduring relations. It also shines a light on current areas of cooperation and promising opportunities for future collaboration.
He added that Kuwaitis know Britain well, and Britain, in turn, knows Kuwait and its people, making the event a celebration of a mutual relationship built on trust and cooperation.

The ambassador praised the patronage of HH Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad, describing him as an inspiring and supportive figure, and expressed pride in his sponsorship of the event, noting that it played a significant role in its success.
Regarding corporate participation, he said the exhibition includes a large and diverse number of companies across education, business, and service sectors.

He emphasized that investment partnerships between the two countries form a key pillar for strengthening bilateral relations, adding that Kuwaiti investors have a deep understanding of the British market and have successfully introduced numerous UK brands to Kuwait, particularly in the food and beverage, automotive, and banking sectors.
Ahmed Ismail Behbehani, Chairman of the British Week Organizing Committee, stressed that HH Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad’s patronage reflects the depth and history of Kuwaiti–British relations and his consistent support for events that strengthen the historic bonds between the two countries.
Behbehani highlighted that Kuwaiti–British relations are a unique model of partnerships built on a solid foundation of historical friendship dating back more than 250 years, when mail routes were redirected through Kuwait by the British East India Company.
These ties were further cemented with the signing of the 1899 Anglo-Kuwaiti Agreement by the late Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah, which confirmed Kuwait’s independent decision-making and kept the country away from major international conflicts.
He noted that these relations have continued to evolve over the decades, encompassing political, economic, military, and cultural fields. Behbehani also pointed to the visit of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to the United Kingdom in January 2025 as a landmark moment that reaffirmed the strength of strategic relations and highlighted the special ties between the ruling families of both nations.
He concluded by emphasizing that the 13th British Week in Kuwait, held in February 2026, carries particular significance as it coincides with Kuwait’s celebrations of the 65th Independence Day and the 35th Liberation Day, making it a particularly meaningful occasion for all participants.
