BRICS finance ministers and central bank governors have called for reforms to global financial institutions, including the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, to give emerging-market economies a greater role in global economic governance.
In a joint statement, BRICS finance officials said reforming global economic governance remains a firm priority for the group as emerging-market and developing economies account for an increasing share of global output and growth.
“We will continue to strengthen coordination among BRICS countries to make international financial institutions more representative, transparent, and accountable,” they said.
