Brazil Congratulates Kuwait on National and Liberation Days

I extended my heartfelt congratulations to His Highness the Amir, to His Highness the Crown Prince and to the people of Kuwait on the occasion of Kuwait’s 65th National Day and the 35th anniversary of Liberation.
This is an occasion for justified national pride, as our Kuwaiti friends celebrate the date when their country joined the international community as a sovereign nation, having built a modern, prosperous state.
I am pleased to note the convergence of principles that guide both Kuwait’s and Brazil’s foreign policy, such as respect for the sovereignty of nations, for the rule of law and for the goals and principles of the United Nations Charter. Additionally, Kuwait’s commitment to dialogue and cooperation is a concrete and effective contribution to the region and the world.
In particular, I would like to commend Kuwait’s international cooperation, with humanitarian and development initiatives which extend well beyond the region to benefit countries in different areas of the world. In that regard, I can say that Brazil stands ready to work with Kuwait in bringing technical cooperation for development to third countries, in line with the great work that is done by Kuwait’s KFAED and Brazil’s ABC cooperation agencies.
I also note that bilateral relations continue to move forward, with trade between Brazil and Kuwait in January having reached a fifteen-year record for that month and with several bilateral agreements under negotiation. As I again congratulate our Kuwaiti friends on the national date, I would like to extend my best wishes of peace and blessings to all in the holy month of Ramadan.
H.E. Rodrigo d’Araujo Gabsch
Ambassador of Brazil
