Bohra community in Kuwait holds mourning council for Imam Hussein

The Bohra Community Center in Kuwait held a mourning council on Monday in honor of Imam Hussein (PBUH) at the Suleiman Rabie Al-Mousawi Boys School in the Daiya area. The event was attended by members of the community who gathered to commemorate the tragedy of Karbala, reflecting on the values of sacrifice, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to justice.

Mustafa Bhai, Deputy Representative of the Sultan of the Bohra Community in Kuwait, delivered the sermon, beginning with praise to God and blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his noble family and companions. He highlighted the Prophet’s exemplary character and the guidance his life continues to offer humanity, reports Al-Rai daily.

In his remarks, Bhai underscored the ultimate sacrifice of Imam Hussein, the Prophet’s grandson, who gave his life at Karbala to uphold the truth and safeguard the values of Islam. “He gave his life and all that was dear to him in defense of the message of his grandfather, the Seal of the Prophets,” he said.

He urged the Bohra community in Kuwait to remain steadfast in following Islamic principles, avoid what is forbidden, and embody the noble values of the faith. He also emphasized the importance of respecting Kuwaiti laws and remaining loyal to the country and its people.

Bhai concluded with prayers for Kuwait’s continued safety, and for health and strength for His Highness the Amir and the Crown Prince, asking God to bless the nation with enduring security and stability.

He also extended heartfelt thanks to the Kuwaiti government—especially the Prime Minister, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and the country’s security agencies—for their cooperation in facilitating religious rituals during the month of Muharram. He praised the understanding and hospitality of the Kuwaiti people, describing it as a reflection of the nation’s spirit of tolerance and respect.
