‘Blue Pioneer’ Summer Camp to raise awareness on critical environmental issues

Sheikha Al-Ibrahim, Director of the Public Relations and Media Department at the Environment Public Authority (EPA), announced that the first edition of the “Blue Pioneer” summer camp is focused on raising awareness among high school students about critical environmental issues.

In a press statement on Monday, Al-Ibrahim said the EPA’s participation in the camp — organized by the Regional Organization for the Protection of the Marine Environment (ROPME) — reflects its commitment to empowering youth and strengthening their role in environmental protection.

She emphasized that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to boost regional environmental cooperation and build a generation that is environmentally conscious.

As part of the program, the EPA is hosting hands-on field activities today and tomorrow at its headquarters, giving students the opportunity to explore Kuwait’s biodiversity firsthand.

Moreover, the camp includes interactive sessions to shed light on the Environmental Protection Law. Students are introduced to the work of judicial officers, the process of issuing environmental violations, and the legal consequences of common environmental infractions.

Al-Ibrahim stressed the importance of engaging youth in understanding environmental legislation, which will not only raise awareness but also equip them with the practical knowledge to protect the environment in their everyday lives.
