Biometric fingerprint now must for Ministry of Interior transactions

Travelers departing from the State of Kuwait are not required to undergo fingerprinting, with the procedure being conducted upon their return

Citizens and residents can now effortlessly schedule their “biometric fingerprint” appointments directly within the Sahel app

The General Department of Public Relations and Security Media has announced that the Ministry of Interior has established a three-month deadline, effective from next month, for all citizens and residents to undergo biometric fingerprint registration. Failure to comply will result in the suspension of all Ministry of Interior transactions.

The administration elaborated on the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing efforts to collect biometric fingerprints from citizens, Gulf Cooperation Council nationals, and residents at all state border outlets, Kuwait International Airport, and designated centers. Emphasizing convenience, they highlighted that individuals from these groups can promptly undergo biometric fingerprinting upon arrival at designated centers and commercial complexes.

These locations include, Hawalli Security Directorate in Hawalli Governorate, Farwaniya Security Directorate in Farwaniya Governorate, Ahmadi Security Directorate in Ahmadi Governorate, Mubarak Al-Kabeer Security Directorate in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, JahraSecurity Directorate in Jahra Governorate (for citizens and Gulf Cooperation Council nationals), Personal Investigation Department (Fingerprinting of companies in Ali Sabah Al-Salem area), Personal Investigation Department (Fingerprinting of companies in Jahra area for residents),Avenues Mall, 360 Mall, The Capital Malland Ministries Complex.

It was clarified that travelers departing from the State of Kuwait are not required to undergo fingerprinting, with the procedure being conducted upon their return.

Book biometric fingerprint appointment via Sahel App

Kazim, the official spokesman for the unified government electronic services application Sahel,announced that citizens and residents can now conveniently schedule their “biometric fingerprint” appointments directly within the app.

In a press statement on Thursday, Kazim elaborated that the process for booking appointments will involve several steps. Users will need to enter the application, select the dates option, click on the Book an appointment” button, choose the Ministry of Interior, then select the General Administration of Criminal Evidence.Following this, they will choose Biometric Fingerprintand select their preferred location, day, and time from the available options.

He further added that users will receive a notification confirming their appointment reservation, along with a reminder that they must present the My Identityapplication or their civil ID when attending to complete the biometric fingerprinting procedures.

He emphasized that this service aligns with the Ministry of Interior’s announcement regarding the mandatory requirement for citizens and residents to undergo biometric fingerprinting within the next three months. Failure to comply will result in the suspension of all Ministry of Interior transactions.
